Richard Stockwell, D.O. is a board-certified osteopathic physician who specializes in the field of proctology. His main focus is to prevent anorectal disorders that require surgery by performing minimally invasive office procedures thus reducing post-procedural discomfort.  He reserves surgery for those patients who do not respond to conservative management. His technically advanced Anorectal Physiology Laboratory enables him appropriately evaluate a patient's anorectal function, therefore expediting proper patient care.  Dr. Stockwell graduated from the New England School in 1995 and completed his residency at Michigan State in 1998.  In 2002, he was named Maine's Young Oteopathic Physician of the year and has been in practice for over 15 years. He resides in Kennebunkport with his wife and two daughters.
Richard C. Barrett, Jr., B.S. is arguably the most experienced anorectal physiology technician. He has evaluated and/or treated more than 21,000 patients over a 28 year career.

His career began in 1990 at the Lahey Clinic under the guidance of John A. Coller, M.D., a world class Colon Rectal Surgeon, who developed anorectal physiology testing into what it is today.

In his early career, Richard provided support to 40 laboratories in the United States, England and Japan who adopted a similar anorectal physiology laboratory practice as the Lahey Clinic.

During his tenure at Lahey Clinic, Richard actively participated in research to promote the understanding of Gastrointestinal Physiology.  Richard was a primary author or co-author on more than 30 papers and 50 presentations.  He presented a podium presentation at the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons a privilege rarely given to non-physicians.

Of greater significance, is Richard’s ability to empathize with patients.  Dr. John Coller wrote: “Richard is remarkably capable of satisfying these individuals that he has their best interests at heart and that he will work with them to improve this most difficult predicament."

Over the past 28 years, Richard has directed laboratories in Boston, Worcester and New York City.

Richard is now focused on bringing the highest quality testing and exemplary patient care to rural communities.
